i was browsing on youtube, looking for some kingdom hearts video which, of course, led to disney’s videos. heheh, i feel so nostalgic watching those videos. even though i’m already in the age of what would you call as young adulthood, i still love disney movies. i watched almost all of disney’s animation movies.
ok, back to videos on youtube. in one video which talking about what disney princesses taught us, there are lots of comments said that what disney taught us are how happy life belongs only for those girls who look beautiful, married a handsome prince, and magic only comes if you are beautiful. true indeed. no matter how i love disney, those are something that i had to admit. yet again, do you really think those are the only message someone could get by watching those movies? i mean, come on, all of us were once kids too, right? we know how it feels like to have hopes, dreams, and innocence imaginations. but soon as we grow up, we see how cruel reality can be, that life is not as sweet as how disney picture it. no wonder many people start to lose their innocence imaginations, replacing it with logics and calculating the future. well, i do that too, of course. but for me, that’s only the little steps i take.
i dunno, but i think maybe even grown ups still have those kinds of innocence dreams and such. i think. but maybe they refuse to acknowledge it as it would hurt them when they realize that dreams only have little chances to come true… maybe it’s like that. well, at least that’s what i was through years ago. never been on anyone shoes, so the hypothesis made based only on my experiences, not reliable enough.
but in my opinion, what someone needs when watching disney’s animation movies is open their heart. thus maybe—just maybe, they won’t lose their innocence childish part which hopefully make them wouldn’t easily consumed by tye cruelity of social system…
